Enan turned over onto his back in the bed, something wasn't quite right... He slowly opened his eyes, letting them adjust before examining the room. Grace was gone from the bed, heck she wasnt even in the room. Wasn't too surprising, she probably had some important things to take care of around the ship. After all she was the captain.
He sat up rubbing his temples, he didn't think he drank that much, what was with the head ache? He got up to gather his clothes and was hit with a wave of dizziness. What the hell...? I haven't felt like this since I came home from Antheia on- awe you've gotta be kidding me...
"Son of a..." he mumbled and grabbed his pants. He shook his head in disbelief as he pulled his pants on. He knew what was wrong now, it didn't take too long to figure out. They weren't on Terra anymore were they? He was suckered into staying on the ship, he only hoped he had the right pills to deal with his space sickness he sometimes got while traveling. "It's to early for this..." he grumbled, sat on the edge of the bed and grabbed his shirt.

In the space between Grace taking off and Enan finally awakening, she'd taken off her boots and was now completely slouching in her chair, alternating between reading her eInkr and watching the screen. She heard the shuffling sound of Enan as he finally woke up and couldn't help but grin. She wasn't totally sure how he was going to react, but she doubted 'pleased' would be high on the list.
She slid open the the door to the cockpit and turned her chair so she could look out it, feet still propped up on the useless console. Grace did her best to clamp down on the grin, but it still came out, cheerful and wild, and just a little smug. She called out, "Good morning!" to him.

He heard the door and the cheery morning greeting. He looked up to see Grace in the doorway. "Well look who's the happy trickster," he couldn't help but smile at his own stupidity. She set it up and he walked right into it.
He'd get up again but probably fall over soon after. "I'm going to assume you've done this kind of thing before haven't you?" He rubbed his temples again trying to help fight off hie head ache.

"Oh, a few times." Grace kept grinning at Enan. "Don't feel too bad. You were doomed the moment you told me you were a doctor."
He wasn't looking too hot, which was strange since he hadn't drank that much. Hangovers were pretty common on the Queen of Spades, but Enan was hardly a lightweight. But there was another obvious reason he was looking like he was about to throw up.
"Let me guess, spacesick?" Grace crossed over to her bathroom and got her medicine chest open, digging around until she found some old pills. She poured a glass of water into a tin cup and sat on the bed beside him, offering him the pills and water. "I think I've got enough pills for you until we hit Nox."

Should have known...
"It's not long lasting, usually just the first while after taking off," He gladly took the water and the pill. He popped the pill into his mouth and took some water. As soon as he heard the word Nox he nearly choked on the water. once he caught his breath he stared at her. "Nox...?! Vampire Nox?" he coughed again.
Shaking his head he slowly slipped his shirt over his head. He'd survive on a ship if he had to, but Nox? That was pushing it.

"No, the other Nox, with rainbows and kittens." She took the cup when he was finished and dumped the water into the recycling tank in the bathroom. "Yes, vampire-Nox. But don't worry, you won't be getting off the ship, not unless we're at the spaceport. You're too valuable to use as foot soldier."
She wandered back over, giving his hair a tousle. "Cheer up! You're getting to visit the far side of the solar system! Action! Adventure! Loads of money! All the good things in life! If you feel up to eating, head on down. Klove says he's hired a cook."
Grace headed back across into the cockpit, flopping down into her seat and calling back to him, "I'll be down in a bit, but I have to finish charting our course."

Oh, so apparently I'm valuable, good to know...
Enan groaned and stood up, food was probably a good thing. It would help him with his settling into the whole space flight thing. He scratched the back of his head and headed for the door. If only the pill kicked in faster, it would make getting down to the kitchen area a bit easier.
As he slowly made his way down and into the kitchen area he quickly sat down to stop another sudden dizzy spell. He probably looked like a mess. Unshaven, messy hair. But at this point he didn't really care, all he wanted was for the stupid pill to kick in so he'd feel better.

(( Picks up around 9:30 am or so ))
The viewscreen was as empty as she'd left it, all the stars in their proper place and all the machines with the proper lights. She flopped back into her captain's chairs, arms behind her head as she leaned the chair on back. The crew seemed decent enough, and nobody had stabbed one another yet, which was always a good sign. As long as that chef fellow kept cooking good food, and nobody got too in the way, it would be alright.
There was a beep from her eInkr. She wandered into the captain's quarters, retrieving it, and carrying it back over to the cockpit. It was a message from her mother, reminding her that it was Justice's birthday and that she should wish him well. Grace rolled her eyes, but brought up her contacts, typing up a quick message and sending it off. Justice was working offworld, farming on Antheia. The last time she'd seen him, he'd seemed happy to be out of the Below.

Enan had gotten up and followed Grace back up to the cockpit area. He waited a bit till she finished with her eInkr before he walked in. He was feeling better having the pill take over his space sickness.
"So, now I'm curious as to how much you told me was truth," He made a small sigh and leaned up against the door frame. Being used was not fun, and all he wanted were some simple answers. "I mean... How am I supposed to live like this when I cant even trust a Captain because she may have lied to get me on board."

Grace turned to look at Enan, setting her eInkr on top of a console. He looked slightly frustrated, but no longer like he was going to throw up on the floor. And Grace, being unable to resist, gave him a teasing grin, "Really? As I recall, I didn't have to do much to get you onboard. You asked to see the ship without me having to coax you along."
She kicked off her boots, tucking them under the console and then reached out to the engine console, locking the buttons in place. She motioned for him to take a seat, "Here, sit your ass down. Tell me what you think I've lied about, and I'll tell you the truth."

It was true that he did ask to see the ship, but that didn't mean he wished to live on it. He sat down, lean forward a bit and rested his elbows on his thighs. He rubbed his face and looked at her. "Everything you had said about your family," he stated, "It seemed like truth, but at the moment I'm not quite so sure."
He was also wondering how much she was really actually interested in him, because he clearly didn't fit the type for people that were on or usually on board. Was it just the fat that he was a doctor? That's it? Or was there actually a little bit more there?

"That was all true. I'm the oldest of seven. But they don't live in the Below anymore. I've paid their way out and got them into good positions." She grabbed her eInkr and brought up a family photo of them from last year, taken on her parent's 30th anniversary. Grace handed it to Enan. "We're all over the system. I'm the only one running a ship, but I'm the one who always had the worst wanderlust."
"I don't tend to lie. You can get caught up in lies too easy. On the other hand, you can tell the truth, you just have to make sure not to tell all of it. Most people will fill in the blanks to be whatever they want to be." She gave Enan a look, "I told you I got into space young, younger than most. But you never asked why. You assumed. That's what most people do. That's how you get most people."

He took the eInkr to look at the photo. A small start of a smirk started and he handed the device back. "I'm sorry. I'm more just completely out of place and I guess a bit confused." He paused and stared at the floor for a bit. It would take some time, but he might be ok.
"This isn't exactly what one pictures doing, when being used to a completely constant and stable life." He added. Having only met someone in a bar a day or two before... It was a little weird.

"You're not the first man press-ganged into serving on a ship. Plenty of great men ended up here thanks to a knock on the head in a back-alley." She pulled her hair back and into a loose pony-tail, "At least my method didn't leave you with a lump on the back of your noggin. I don't make a habit of taking unwilling men aboard my ship, but in your case, I was willing to make an exception."
"Constant and stable are just ways of saying 'I was living in a rut'. Here's what would have happened if I hadn't kidnapped you. You would have woken up, wandered home, and in less than half an hour, you'd find yourself wondering why you quit your job. You'd chalk it up a moment of temporary insanity. Then you'd go back and tell them that you'd been hussled by an ex who took your money and ran." That was as familiar as the 'surprise kid' routine. Grace knew plenty of women who'd run it in the past. She never had, but only because no man would be dumb enough to believe she'd let herself get knocked up by them. "You'd go back to your rut and sleepwalk through life. Man like you, living like that? Fiking shame."

"Well... when you put it like that," he snickered a bit, "It does seem a little pathetic. But I was comfortable with that. This? Not so much..." He leaned back more where he was sitting. When he thought about it, he did occasionally get bored with the same thing over and over despite being used to it.
Hell Caden never really complained about being bored. He never really had a steady job like Enan and he generally seemed happy. Except when he had to pay medical bills from his stupidity.
