Enan rolled his eyes, "Figured that's where that went." He put the pistol in the back of his pants. "Sorry, he does stuff like that often. Appears, disappears..." He finished off his glass of beer and quickly ordered another. He was pretty good at holding his liquor and often took advantage of it.
"So, Grace, staying in the district a while?" he asked curiously. "because if you need some medical supplies you could stop by, I could get what you need." This was both an invitation for help while she was in town and sort of an excuse to see her again. He was not afraid to admit to wanting to see a girl like herself again before she probably disappeared.

"That's family for you." She finished her beer and set the glass aside. "Always around when they need something, gone as soon as they get it."
"I'm in town for the next few days. I'm mostly looking for a crew right now, but I'd be happy to take you up on that offer. The med-chest is getting low." Low was an understatement. She was fairly sure there was only some bandages and a few compresses left, maybe a bottle of the heavy tranqs. Enan could probably get her better quality stuff than she'd find in the Below.
She glanced at the merc, still drinking by himself. It would be easy enough to swing over and see if he was looking for a job. Then after that, she could get back to her ship and see how Klove was faring. Grace got out her eInkr, "Where's your clinic?"

Enan smirked slightly and responded, "It's not too far from here actually." He grabbed napkin and quickly wrote down the address. "It's just a few blocks north. If you don't see me in there just ask someone to call me."
"But, I gotta head out," He stood up finishing his second glass. "Nice talking to you. Hope to see you round." He threw some coins onto the bar counter and slowly left with a smile.

"Thanks. See you around." She watched him walk out, then copied down the address into her padd. The eInkr mapped it out automatically, showing her how far it was from her ship. Not that bad at all. She could easily get over to it tomorrow. Grace wadded up the napkin and tucked it into her empty glass, tucking her eInkr back inside her jacket.
The bartender came by and she flagged him down, "A mug of whatever that man is having." She motioned to the merc. The bartender returned with a glass of darker beer. She paid him up, picked up the beer and headed to the merc's table.
Grace stopped beside the empty chair, waiting for the man to notice her, "Mind if I join you?"

Castle sat for a long time just thinking when suddenly the woman who walked in earlier approached him.
He hesitated unsure of what to say. He didn't exactly know why she'd want to go over to him. Then, he nodded, "Not at all." She was a confident woman. He could definitely tell that. Maybe she had a job for him to do. Or maybe she just wanted to get to know him. No... It wasn't that. Couldn't be. He took a sip of his booze and studied her up and down.

Grace sat down in the chair across from him. She slid the beer over to him, "I noticed you were getting low." Her eyes quickly scanned over him. He was a big one, solid all the way across. He didn't give her a bad vibe, but everything about him said he was not someone you messed with, not unless you liked seeing your teeth all over the ground. You could count on men like him.
"My name's Grace Forjacks. I'm looking for a contractor." If he was a merc, he'd know that's what she was asking him. And if he wasn't, he'd just wonder what sort of madwoman went around asking about contractors instead of searching the Net.

Castle once again hesitated. He didn't like it when he was offered a drink. Could be drugged or poisoned. He left the new cup as he finished his own. Even though she didn't look like the kind that would try to kill or kidnap him he didn't like taking risks. It's happened before.
"You're lookin' at one." He was a little disappointed that he was already offered a job after just finishing one. He liked to rest a little. It didn't matter too much though.

Grace watched the man politely ignore the beer and felt her opinion of him rise. A smart man didn't take a free drink without asking himself why it was being given. While she wasn't opposed to dumb mercs, since it didn't take much of an IQ to point a pistol, she preferred to travel with men who were at least smart enough to see a trap coming.
"I'm looking for someone to sign on and head with me to Nox. I've got a shipment to deliver, and the territory I'm heading into is full of bloodsuckers. The job would take just over two weeks. When it finishes, you can decide to stay on or move along to another job."

Just the mention of the planet's name made him wince. He definitely didn't want to remember the events about his step-father. Right away he decided to reject the offer no questions asked. But then some questions were asked. He hated Were-people for what they had done to him. So he could use this opportunity to seek revenge on those monsters that are mistakenly referred to as sentient beings.
Suddenly he felt excited to go to Nox and inflict pain to this horrid race. "I'm in." He said quickly. He put his feet back on the floor and leaned forward and invited a handshake. "Jared Castle."

She saw the wince pass over his face, disappearing as quickly as it came. Bad memories? Likely. She doubted there were many people with good memories of Nox. Even Klove didn't have many, and he was born and bred there. But he accepted her offer and that's all that mattered.
Grace shook his hand. "Nice to meet you Castle. We'll be shipping out in the next few days, possibly at the last minute. I'm in Dock 178-E. If I'm not there, my first mate Klove will be. He's young, but experienced."

"Great." He decided he was done with his rest and he stood up. "I'm going there now," he said as he left. As he walked past the bar he tossed money to the bartender who caught it. The Docks weren't far. He walked back to the hotel he was staying in. He kept his possessions there. His guns and other weapons.
He pondered ways that he could hurt them. The were-wolves and were-cats, they were all the same to him. Monsters that didn't deserve to live. Then he remembered that Vampires also came from Nox. Vampires weren't much better than Were-creatures. They at least weren't beasts. they actually had faces you could recognize. He arrived at the hotel room and gathered his things. After he finished he was off to the Docks.

Grace watched Castle head off. She picked up the untouched beer and sipped it. It was a bitter brew. Seemed about right. Castle had something going on with him, but Grace didn't care what it was, just as long as he did his job. She left the beer on the table and headed outside.
Castle would have to get his stuff. By the time he made it to the ship, she'd be waiting. Graced headed back to the docks, hands in her pockets and whistling to herself. It had been one hell of a productive day.
