Waving to Booker as she was ushered onwards by Solomon, Magdalen listened with interest as he proceeded to point out the common living area, kitchen, storage closet and piloting area. The latter was where the commentary ended however as another unfamiliar voice permeated the hall.
She was surprised by the appearance of the man who called himself ‘Nick’, as she remembered Sol having described him as a lone wolf sort of figure. Yet there was something about his eyes that made her think differently about that assessment.
Greeting him with a friendly smile, the blonde slipped her smaller hand into his and gave it a gentle squeeze. “It’s lovely to meet you! And on the contrary,” she said in response to Sol’s remark about it being not particularly exciting in that section of the ship. “I always hear this is where all of the action takes place.” Winking playfully at Nick, she turned again to appraise the space they’d already covered and nodded.
“It really is a beautiful vessel.”

"Well, I mean, if you wanted to see it..." Sol shrugged. He had just figured it would be a whole bunch of stuff she wouldn't understand if she wasn't a pilot. He only knew what half of it was himself. "There are a lot of... lights and buttons?"
He glanced around, wondering where Olive was. He hoped she hadn't wandered off and gotten herself lost again. Really he should have just brought her along with him, he realized. At least he would have known where she was. "Has anyone seen Olive?"

Caden came herding Olive back onto the ship. "You cant just walk up to men like that Olive..." He sighed trying to explain to her why wandering the docks in Terra wasn't always such a good idea. He wasn't exactly good at it, but was trying, "Terra is not like Antheia. People here will shove you out of the way in an instant if it benefits them..."
He rubbed his temples in frustration, trying not to say anything obscene around the faun girl. She was too happy for what he was used to. It was weird. "Sol, I went out for a smoke and found her on the docks again trying to make friends with a not so friendly merc..." He paused for a second realizing he was probably interrupting something as he spotted the girl with the Captain. He had to stop himself from staring by looking more to the ground. She was quite beautiful and he didn't really want to make a bad first impression.
"I'm sorry... Am I interrupting something...?" He asked.

"Awww come on!" Olive pouted as she was dragged into the room by Caden. "He looked nice! He just needed someone to talk to!! Sometimes you gotta just talk, ya know!" Caden sure was grumpy. He was like when Sol got grumpy, except, like, all the time or something.
It was then that she noticed the new woman standing there in the common room. She brightened, wandering over to her. Boy was she pretty! "Oh hi!! You're new! I'm Olive! What's your name??"

Two other passengers, or more specifically crew, entered the room before she had a chance to say much else. Forced to tear her attention away from Nick, the blonde allowed her eyes to settle upon another attractive man with dark hair. She assumed he could be the notorious ‘Caden’ that Solomon had warned her about earlier but he seemed – from what she could tell – extremely polite.
Deciding it was only fair to extend the same courtesy she’d shown everyone else thus far, she smiled gently and gave a small wave. Parting her lips to make an introduction, she was cut short by a chipper and far more feminine voice than what she’d heard up until that point. Olive. The Faun girl was almost exactly as she imagined her to be and her face lit up almost instantly.
“I’m Magdalen, one of the new additions to the crew.”

Caden raised his eyebrows. The crew? So she's going to be sticking around then. He thought she would have been a passenger. He brought himself back from his thoughts to briefly introduce himself. "Caden, I uhh, I fix things..." That's it? You're just pathetic... Way to make yourself look like an idiot.
Figuring he just made things super awkward he slowly turned. "I'll be in the engine room..." And with that he left without another word. He wasn't exactly expecting to bring Olive back to be greeted by a face like that. It threw him off a bit and he wasn't quite sure how to react.
He sat down at a bench in the engine room and pulled out his eInkr to stop himself from thinking too much. Figured he'd let his brother know he wasn't going to be around for probably a good amount of time.

"You're crew?? oh cool!" Olive was extra excited now. A girl! Yay! "What's your job?--Byyyye Caden stop being a party pooper!"
Olive waved as Caden wandered away and then turned her attention towards Sol. "So did you get lots of food? Can I make a salad? You were gone for awhile, so I hope you brought back lots of stuff!! Did it cost lots?"

"Olive!" Sol sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "I thought you'd learned from the other day not to wander off." He headed over to her and ruffled up her hair a little. "Yeah, I got some veggies. Some meat too. And..."
He took the shopping bag from Magdalen and the dug around inside of it, finally pulling out the violet dress he'd purchased. He held it out to Olive. "This is for you. It's got sleeves, so you'll be a lot warmer when we're traveling. I really should have gotten you a sweater too, now that I think about it..."

Magdalen watched as Caden returned to the engine room, deciding that he – like Cass – wasn’t particularly fond of socializing. Or perhaps he was shy? Scolding herself for making assumptions again, the blonde turned her attention to Olive who was speaking excitedly. It was a task in and of itself to be able to keep up with what she was saying.
Before she was able to make any kind of reply, Solomon had reached over to take the shopping bag from her arm; extracting the violet dress she’d picked out earlier. The Faun had such a pretty face, she was sure the colour would look wonderful on her.
“Yes, I’ve been looking forward to meeting you Olive! I’m going to be helping here and there around the ship … and act a translator when it’s needed.”

Olive's face lit up at the dress. "For me?? Really?" She took it from Sol, inspecting every inch of it. "It's so pretty! You've never bought me stuff before, silly!" She grinned, throwing her arms around him and giving him a huge hug. Then she went back to looking at the garment closer.
As Magdalen spoke, Olive looked back up at the other girl. "You've been looking forward to meeting me? How come?"

“Well, Solomon has told me some very nice things about you. That and I was positive you’d be excited to learn there would be other female company on board … not that there’s anything wrong with these nice men of course.”
Magdalen smiled shyly, hoping she wasn’t being too forward and had to suppress happy laughter when she saw how satisfied Olive was with her dress.

Sol patted Olive on the back as she hugged him. "You're gonna get cold. You needed it. Also, it was a lovely excuse to force something nice on Magdalen." He joked, knowing Olive wouldn't get it anyway, but Magdalen would.
When Olive pulled away, he dug back into the bag for the pants he'd bought. He finally pulled them out and threw them over his shoulder, planning to put them away in his room once they were done. Then he closed up the bag again with the remaining dress still inside and handed the bag back at Magdalen with a soft smile.

"You got that right!" Booker smiled. He was enjoying the conversations. All his new friends standing around talking. This was the life. He'd be able to get to know them all very much over the next few weeks.
"There ain't nothing wrong with these nice men! We're gonna have so much fun on this ship. Up in space partying all day!" Booker felt like doing a happy dance but it was kind of random to start dancing out of nowhere with no music.

She couldn’t help but laugh at Solomon’s remark, taking the bag and tossing him a knowing look as she folded her arms. He really was a surprisingly open and friendly person once you got him to talk. Heaven knows why they hadn’t said very much when they’d first met back on Antheia. Perhaps it had been a result of his constant solitude? Whatever the reason, she anticipated getting to know him and the rest of the crew better as time progressed.
“Party?” Magdalen giggled a bit at Booker’s outburst, finding his wide smile utterly contagious. She’d have been shocked if he and Olive didn’t get along.

"Well anyway," Sol continued, anxious to move things along. "Booker, could you do me a favour and grab the crate we just brought in? It's down on the cargo level. Full of food, so, you know the faster we get it up here to the kitchen..." He figured that was self explanatory. Food and heavy lifting? Certainly a job for Booker.
"Magdalen, I'll show you the crew quarters and you can pick a room," he waved her over to follow him, but stopped for a moment and pointed at Booker. "No opening the crate until I'm back." And then he continued back down the main hallway and turned to their right, hoping Magdalen was behind him.
