When dragged off, they hadn't exactly been very careful and ended up causing even more pain as they forcefully moved him. He was brought back to where he started and now before setting his arm back into place they took the time to investigate the strange bones. The weak pain killers didn't do much at all and they had to strap him down again so they could work with out him struggling and squirming in pain. Once finally placed properly they had to cast the arm. And almost as if they didn't care, they just left him again.
Alone and once again strapped down he stared at the wall trying to think of something other than the pain in his arm. What if it didn't heal properly? It hurt too much to try and move his fingers to even see if everything still worked. If in a normal hospital he wouldn't be in so much pain, as they would have used better painkillers.
If all else failed, and he couldn't use his arm like he used to, there was always a way he could figure out to modify and make it work. Even if that meant getting some sort of fake limb or another genetic experiment. But that would clearly have to wait.

The Chamber was downright eerie when there was no one inside. Enker made sure there was no one ether coming or going down the hall, and pulled out his false ID card. It looked much like his regular card, but when swiped, it would register a false persona. As well, it immediately shut off all recording and listening devices in the area. Enker was careful not to use it too often. If it showed up too many times in the system, they'd start noticing that Clayton Lewis was not a real person and that he had a tendency to be around with all the equipment went quiet.
Enker dimmed the lights as he entered. From the outside, it would appear as if the Chamber was in lockdown mode. People would stay out, thinking someone from high-up was standing in, rather than Paul Enker.
He approached the table where Unwin was lying and took a good look at the man. Enker had left after Cain had grasped the chain and pulled out the multi-tool. He never had a stomach for violence. But he had managed to watch them cast that arm, if only to make certain they followed Enker's instructions.
"I see you're still in one piece." Enker greeted Unwin with. "Minus a few fingernails of course."

Everything was so quiet, all you could hear in the room was the uneven breathing coming from Unwin. He just laid still occasionally wincing at a shooting pain and it wasn't until he heard someone enter that he glanced away from where he was staring. He turned his head slightly to see who it was. He made a subtle sigh and looked back to the wall he was staring at before.
If anyone was expecting him to answer anything later it was probably bet they just left him alone a while. He didn't particularly want to talk to anyone and was currently attempting to ignore Enker. Though he wasn't going to lie, he definitely preferred Talking to Enker over Cain. Which he was glad to have those soldiers bust in before they guy broke something else.
When Enker spoke Unwin made a small twitch. 'As if I needed to be reminded...' He groaned in his head.

Unwin didn't react. Enker felt a dark urge to prod at the broken casted arm, but resisted it. After all, he wanted Enker's cooperation. Provoking him would only remind him of Cain, and Enker was not on Cain's side.
"He'll be back for more in a few hours. And when he runs out of fingernails, he'll start on your teeth. Or start cutting things off." Enker brought up a photo of his eInkr. It wasn't a pleasant sight. "Michael Nida. We've had him for two weeks. I didn't even get to offer him a deal. Cain's been dealing with him from the very start. Take a good look. This is your future."

Enker's babbling didn't interest him much until the picture was shown. The horribly disfigured man in the picture looked hardly even alive. He wrinkled his nose in disgust and looked away from the eInker. He mentioned a deal. What kind of deal? Most likely just something that would delay the next meeting with Cain. That'd be nice, but it really wouldn't do much.
"What do you want?" he asked with an irritated sigh. If it was a waste of his time he didn't care. It needed to be something worthwhile in the end for himself in order to consider it an option.

He removed the picture and then checked to make sure he and Enker were still alone. If anyone heard what he was about to say... Enker wouldn't just lose his job. He would probably lose his life. Or end up in Cain's hands. And really, that was a fate worse than death.
"I offered you a deal before. Unfortunately, that particular deal is off the table. I won't get you back until Cain's done with you, and Cain won't be done until you're cut into little pieces." He went quiet as someone walked by the Chamber's exterior. But no one looked in.
"But I think I have something that could make both of us very happy. You give me a location, any location, even just a storage locker here on Terra. And I'll get you out of here."

The deal that would cut out a spinal tap? (what he remembered) That was hardly worth his time, as important information could be grabbed from it. Enker looked a little sketchy as someone had just simply walked past. Was he not supposed to be here?
With eyebrows knitted together in confusion he stared at Enker for a bit. He was going to get him out? How and why...? "You were so determined to bring me down... What's the catch?" Unwin was serious, there had to be something more than a fake location that would be required. It didn't make any sense. What would he do lie to everyone for a promotion? That was kind of sad.

"No catch." Now that was a lie, but Unwin didn't need to know the catch had already happened. "Well. Like I said, I want some real, tangible evidence. I'm going to need it to keep out of the shitstorm that's going to happen when you make your dramatic, and unexpected, escape."
Enker paced a little, a nervous tic he'd never quiet gotten rid of, "I've been an Interplanatary Affairs Officer for two years now. I enjoy the work, but I'm ready to move up. Much as you have stolen to move your way up the evolutionary ladder, I have been waiting for the right case to bump me up the pay scale, and to a desk two floors higher. But time and time again, Tribulation Cain has stepped in to crush my cases, and destroy my primary suspects."
"I've had enough. I want Cain's reputation destroyed. I want him to be the one left holding the bag when the cat escapes." Enker smacked the eInkr against his palm, "You want out. I want you out. Of course, this doesn't mean you'll be free forever. I plan on recapturing you at some point in the future. But it will be on my terms, and when we negotiate for your stolen property, it will be without physical violence and unnecessary pain."

So Enker wanted to get past Cain and up, while risking letting someone like Unwin out. Come to think of it, if he was letting him go and framing it as an escape he could give him a piece of the stolen research in return as to not make it look like he just out right lied about the location. He did have a place he had built and stayed in secret on Antheia for a while. He had managed to hide it pretty well, deep into the forests just out of the elven lands, but decided to ditch it as he realized the Underworld had better protection against government attacks. He'd been back only a few times since the move over. Hidden compartments were likely to contain pieces of the research he'd already used, or didn't find he needed.
"Antheia..." He stated quietly, "If you can confirm me getting out, I'll give you the exact coordinates to somewhere I used to stay. It will still have some of the stuff you're looking for." His tone was steady and meant business. It would keep Unwin's ass covered for a short amount of time as well as Enker's. They'd be searching there and not be completely focused on him.
"Now,on another note, if you'd be so kind... I have a wicked itch on my neck that I cant get to..." He wiggled his good arm a bit as a form of asking to be unstrapped for just a second so he could scratch himself.

Paul considered Unwin's words. He was probably telling the truth. He doubted it was his main research base, but anything was a lead that would look golden in the wake of Unwin's disappearance. "I can arrange for a power-outage. We've had trouble with them in the past. Our generator is old, breaks down if you look at it too hard. That'll give you just enough time to get through those vents over there-" He gestured to an air vent twenty feet off the ground. "That leads straight outside. You'll have to climb down the outside of the building, but a man like yourself? I'm sure you can manage it, even with a broken arm."
Enker wasn't in the habit of unstrapping anything. But... he was making a deal with Unwin. And if Unwin used this opportunity to hurt Enker, or god forbid thing of using him as a hostage, he wouldn't get very far. He reluctantly unbuckled the arm and stepped back.

Crawling through a vent wouldn't be a problem, it was more of the climbing part. He'd be able to do it, it would just be very painful to be constantly using his arm in a way that put any sort of stress on it. At least he could finally move his fingers again, otherwise that would have posed a major problem. He glanced up tot he vent. Al he needed to get up there was a simple movement of the table he was strapped to as a boost. The thing was surprisingly strong and would probably easily be able to be placed up in the right way to get better access to the vent.
when the strap was released from his arm he brought his arm up and scratched at his neck making a sigh of relief. "Mmm," a trace of a smile returning to his face, "You have no idea how much that was bothering me." He then reached over to undo the other strap on his broken arm. Sitting up, he stretched and winced from the pain in his arm.
He never thought he'd be making a deal with a member of the government for his own freedom. But at this point he'd rather make a deal then get stuck in another room with that Cain guy again. It was still beyond him how the man was able to break his arm like that.

"I can safely say that's true." Enker had gone his entire life without being restrained by anything or anyone. He hoped to continue that. He also hoped he'd be getting that office he so rightly deserved.
Enker handed over his eInkr. "Leave the coordinates on there once you escape. Take it to the Union Spaceport, put it in locker 2315. The passcode is 'mary'." Enker kept a locker there for the few times he was forced off-planet and had possessions he didn't want to take off-planet, but didn't want to leave in his apartment where they could be found. It was empty at the moment, and paid up until the end of the month.

Mary? Strange password, maybe this Mary was a loved one or something. He took the eInker, was this one of the newer models? He'd love to run off with that and keep it for himself. But when making a deal like this, keeping your word was key. "2315. Mary. Got it," He nodded and continued to unstrap his legs. He glanced back to the vent, it was high but he was pretty sure he'd be able to get to it. He would have loved to grab some of the info on himself that the doctors had written out but there probably wasn't time for that.
"Am supposed to go now, or wait for your power to 'fail'?" He asked and examined the table making sure he didn't step on any possible weak spots as he propped it up the way he needed it.

Enker stepped back toward the table, pulling out a plain white cloth from his pocket and cleaning off the strap he touched. Fingerprints gone, he stepped back again.
"Wait for the power to fail. There are sensors in the vent. The moment one is triggered, the vent seals itself and pumps in an incapacitating agent. As a warning, the gas is near lethal levels. You'll have ten minutes. Don't waste any time." As long as Unwin didn't waste any time, he'd emerge with an extra minute. And when the sensors reset themselves, they would fail to notice the vent breach until someone came down and looked for Unwin in purpose.
"I'm going to head to the generator. As soon as the lights flicker, go." He didn't wish Unwin good luck. That was ridiculous. Unwin would get out on his own or he wouldn't get out at all. Instead, he headed to the lab exit, paused to make sure his fingerprints weren't anywhere else, and let himself out using the false ID car.
It was eight stories down to the generator. He got moving.

Gas in the vents. Good to know. Besides, ten minutes was far too long for him to be stuck in a small vent anyway, so he was pretty sure he'd be out in time. It was just a matter of what story he was currently on in order to determine how far he'd have to climb to get down.
As Enker left the room, Unwin looked around. He moved the table the way he needed it and simply waited. He wasn't particularly fond of waiting around, but if it meant getting out alive, he'd sit as still as a statue if needed. Once he noticed the lights flicker he moved, and moved quickly.
The vents were surprisingly big but still a tighter space than he would have liked. The crawling involved putting a lot of pressure on his arms, and with one broken, it wasn't fun. He had to choke back a few loud growls of pain and push himself to move quicker. Once he saw the end it took a bit of tight maneuvering but he managed to turn himself around so he could kick off the gate sealing off the vent from outside.
