Chase had found a nice spot to sit and watched with a grin as the human got up to leave. The little glare from the were was a nice touch. "Bye bye kitty," He waved his fingers close to his face making a little mocking wave as he watched them leave. Something about that was just satisfying.
He wasn't fond of many humans. Most of them smelled funny and weren't easily trusted. He put his feet up on the table near by and drank his drink.

Castle slowed down a little bit when he heard Klove call him. Hopefully what the asshole said was just a poorly thought out joke. Klove was normal, not a Were. He was such a good kid to get along with. Every aspect of him was human. There wasn't a creature waiting inside ready to kill everyone.
Castle was denying it. Even if it turned out to be true, he didn't want to believe it. He slowed down enough so Klove could catch up. He turned around and just waited for an explanation. He looked Klove over once more and still could detect any sign of non-human traits.

Castle slowed down. That was good enough for Klove. He caught up, glancing back at the bar with a scowl, and then at Castle again. "Fik. I'm sorry. I didn't think anybody was going to be such a prick tonight. But what else should I expect? Fiking backwater assholes."
He was rambling. But he couldn't help himself. He'd just been outed to Castle and he still wasn't sure how Castle was reacting. He was just so... blank. Klove was beginning to think that Castle didn't catch what the moron inside had said. Except he had because otherwise he wouldn't have stormed outside...
Stop stalling you idiot, just ask him the horrible little voice inside Klove's head said so he did. "Do you have a problem with weres?"

Castle was getting angry with Klove. After he asked that question, Castle hesitated. There were quite a bit of Weres around so he didn't know when or how to start.
He leaned closer to Klove, talking quietly so others couldn't hear. "Yes. I hate the things." He paused and let that comment sink in. "The reason is that my step-father was a pilot on a ship that took a trip to Nox. There was one rabid werewolf that attacked the crew. My step-father was the only one to survive the attacks. He fled the planet alone on his ship back to where we lived on Terra. Then the next night, there was a full moon. My step-father transformed into a were-wolf for the first time that night and killed my mother." His voice quivered. "Then I was forced to kill him or I would have died too." Once he stopped talking his face twitched a little and he just stared at Klove.

It was a pretty rough story. But it wasn't the first time he'd heard about humans getting bitten and carrying the virus off-world. Weres didn't think about biting people during combat. You couldn't spread the virus to someone who already had it, or to a vamp, and lots forgot humans could carry it.
"That shit sucks. I'm sorry you had to kill your step-dad and I'm sorry your step-dad got bit at all, but I didn't bite him. And nobody else here did either." Klove shook his head, feeling a hard lump of rage in his chest. He'd really thought he and Castle were going to be good friends, but there was no way they were going to get over this, not if Castle was still blaming the whole species instead of the people who actually did it.

"You don't know that. It could have been him." He pointed to some Were walking by. "Or her."
"It's not just that one bit my step father, the whole race just seemed like uncivilized animals to me. Like monsters that just want to kill. I had no idea they were actually people." Jared thought about his opinion on Weres. It was starting to sound stupid to him. Just because the one experience with a Were, doesn't mean that they are all monsters. It was like if a group of criminal, species-hating humans ran into a faun and caused trouble.
This new prospective made Jared feel weird. All his life he had thought everything bad about Weres. But now he was seeing the big picture. The true picture. "I'm sorry... I'm sorry for thinking that way." He liked Klove and didn't want to lose his friendship. Which meant his views on Weres would need to change. "When I first came here, I was cautious to even step outside in fear that I may be jumped by a Were or Vampire. But now I see that Weres are people too, and I'm sorry."

Jared came around must faster than Klove had expected. He carefully studied his friend to make sure he wasn't just waiting for an opening to attack, and when he was sure that Jared was telling the truth, he nodded, "It's okay. I've been where you are. There's nothing wrong with hating the guy who did that to your step-dad, but we're not all like that. I'm not like that."
He glanced back toward the bar, then shook his head, "Fiking asshole. I was going to tell you, probably in another couple of weeks. I try not to advertise what I am for a good reason." Klove didn't need to say the rest. Castle's reaction had said it all. People didn't trust you when they found you could change on command.
