Olive felt a tinge of annoyance as Sol left, suddenly getting all professional again. Or whatever the heck the word was when he got all Captainy and serious. Well, he was often serious, but the Captainy part... that was new and weird for Olive. As was his recent tendency to act extremely paranoid about everything, making Olive begin to wonder if there was something he wasn't telling her.
She shook her head when he walked out, and then turned to Magdalen. It would have been nice if he'd stayed to talk to her too, Olive pondered. And then she smiled, "Well, I wasn't totally alone. There was Cass. But... she hid a lot. So, yeah... kinda like I was alone anyway. Now that Reese guy is there alone though. I hope he won't be lonely. He seems nice! In a... falling over all the time kinda way..."
She watched Magdalen peer over her horse. "He made me more over the years, and he got pretty good at it. That one's pretty rough, but it was the first one so it's the most special one. I could never leave it behind for any of the other ones." She wondered if she had time to go back and get some more of them. She'd already said goodbye to her family, though, so maybe it wouldn't be a good idea to have to do that all over again...
