There was something strangely gratifying about watching her awe. Perhaps it was because he was so used to jaded reactions, forced cynicism even when something amazing was happening. There was so little left in this world that made Titus feel an awe, but he could always remember what awe was like when he saw the emotions swim across her face.
The hug, however, was uncomfortable. Titus didn't like being touched. It made him feel uncomfortable and he had no words to deal with the complexity of the emotions. Digeo was not a 'hugging' person and Titus had grown up with very little physical contact with anyone. And when she hugged him, his arms stayed by his side, trying to figure out if he should fake it or not.
It broke before he could make a decision. Titus gave Skye a quick brief nod after she let go of him, not wanting to make her uncomfortable. "If you look to the right hand side, you can see spaceships coming and going." It was one of the nicer sights from his apartment. Titus enjoyed watching the odd-shaped ships as they descended either to the private docks, or down to the Inbetween's public docks.
"I'll be across the hall if you have any questions." Titus gave her another brief nod before retreating to his study. He left the door open as he sat down at his desk and in front of the large viewscreen set into the steel. He began sending out messages to his contacts, hoping to secure what he needed for Skye. And after a moment, he messaged Persephone. They hadn't spoken in a while, but he knew she could be trusted to help whip Skye into shape and help her blend in with Top society.
As he worked, he kept one ear open, listening to Skye to make sure she didn't need him. It seemed right to give her some space to enjoy having her own space, and a bed that imagined was softer than anything she'd ever slept in.
