describe full personality = Iod comes off as an asshole a lot of time, but he can't help it. Somewhere inside of him, there's a decent guy, but his mouth just keeps getting in the way. But even though he's a jerk, you can always count on Iod to help you out when you really need it. He's the sort of guy who always tells you how much he doesn't care, but is the first guy over to help you out when you lose your job. Some people get fooled by the wrapper, but his friends know exactly how sweet he is on the inside. [/size][/ul]
so the story begins...
Iod grew up on the other side of the planet, as far away from the spaceport as you can imagine. Most of his early life was spent underwater, following his older siblings around and trying to keep up. He was ten the first time he ever went to the surface, and he didn't really see what the big deal was about. It was just air. You couldn't even swim in it.
As he got older, he followed in his father's footsteps and started fishing. He was aware of humans, though he'd never met any, and he didn't have any strong feelings on them. All he really wanted to do was spend his life managing cuttlefish herds, using dolphins to herd them around and keep them safe. That was the perfect life.
But when he was fifteen, his family took a trip to the surface to meet some traders and he tagged along, just so he could meet the 'humans' everyone was so excited to see. But it was a trap. The so-called traders were just members of a slaving ship, and when they had a large enough crowd, their ship came down and scooped up dozens and dozens of merpeople. Iod was among them, and his first real encounter with humans was seeing them decide who was worth selling and who was worth killing. Iod was thrown into the cages as a keeper, and barely managed to escape through an otherwise impossibly small hole thanks to his octopus heritage.
Iod hid until the ship stopped to dump out the bodies of the dead mercreatures and then threw himself out of the ship after them. One of the crew members shot at him to silence Iod, but missed, and only hit one of Iod's tentacles. The boy passed out when he hit the water and was found hours later, unconscious at the bottom of the ocean with the dead bodies. The family members that hadn't been killed had been kidnapped, and Iod was left an orphan. The community took him in and tried to care for him.
But as he got older, he got tired of the way people looked at him, and how they pitied him. So he left his 'home' with nothing, traveling to the other side of Corus and ended up at the spaceport where he works as a server. He still hates humans, but he got a job serving them, just so he could keep his eyes peeled for the men who helped kill and steal his family. When he finds them, he's going to make them pay.

"You need to stop mouthing off to the customers." Titanian said, handing Iod a bunch of ice she'd wrapped up in a towel.
"I'll stop mouthing off when they stop being so damn stupid." He snapped back, taking the ice and pressing it against the lump on his head. "You can't have a refund when you've eaten the whole damn fish."
"Yeah, but you can't call them a liar." She reminded him.
"I can when they are lying. Nobody eats the whole fillet before realizing it isn't what they wanted." Iod's eyes glanced out of the kitchen door, to the man yelling at the manager. Of course it was a human throwing a fuss and trying to scam them out of some money. It was always humans who were doing their best to cheat everybody out of things. Iod was really starting to hate them. "I wish you hadn't pulled me away from him."
"He was going to kick your ass. He's twice your size." Titanian kept on trying to talk reason into him, but it wasn't going to work. Iod already had reason on his side, and reason said that only a total dick tried to cheat people, and then punched you when you called them out on it. "Just ignore him. Let Derek handle him."
The human didn't seem to be getting what he wanted. He shoved Derek, and before Titanian could do a thing, Iod was onto his feet, storming out onto the floor. "Derek! Derek!"
"Iod-" Derek warned, and Iod just flashed him a grin. "Iod, go away."
"And I want to see this kid fired!" The human stabbed a finger at Iod, who got right up in his space.
"Do what he says Derek. Do it. Fire me." He looked at Derek, who gave Iod a 'don't push your luck' look. "Come on man, the customer's always right, right?"
The customer seemed to be sensing that maybe there was something else going on, but he wasn't smart enough to pick it up, just like he wasn't smart enough to know how to scam them. "If you don't fire him, I'm complaining."
"Damnit..." Derek sighed, and looked at Iod. "Fine, you're fired."
"Cool." Iod dropped the towel full of ice and just punched the human in the face. The human stumbled back into a table, looking shocked. "Come on you fiking ape! Let's do this!"
"Your employee just hit me!!"
"He's not my employee anymore. I just fired him." Derek reminded the guy, and the moment that idiot realized what was happening was the best moment of the night. "He's just another customer now, and I can't do anything about him."
The ape looked at Iod, and Ido cracked his knuckles, his shit-eating grin just getting wider. "Let's rumble, asshole."
