describe full personality =
Since childhood, Geneva has been an avid seeker of attention. She enjoys entertaining others and thrives on the praise that rewards her efforts. For example, she has absolutely no trouble standing up before even the vastest crowd of people. While some may find that thought rather unnerving, she considers it to be an exhilarating experience. She supposes this is part of what makes her a prime candidate for politics. And her talent for being able to relay information smoothly and eloquently has garnered her proposals from various senators and delegates from all across Terra. Of course it helps that her father himself has occupied a seat amongst the city’s group of government officials for several years, making notable contributions in the area of commerce and trade in Terra.
In fact she attributes most of her skill set to the teachings of Vincent Fontaine, and with great pride no less.
She’s also known to be a very forgiving and tolerant woman, having to deal with the press and more unsavoury sorts on a daily basis. Over time she has developed a keen sense of who to trust and who to be more wary of, particularly zeroing in on the alleged fans with ulterior motives. A few nosy questions are fine; however she is never pleased when a reporter or journalist tries to weasel their way in to the details surrounding her family and close relatives. Her career is her own after all, and her family’s privacy should be left untouched by her fame. It is her belief that she must deal with the downside of celebrity status herself, since she was the one who willingly signed the contract to begin with. She does very much appreciate her fan base though and realizes not everyone is out there trying to exploit her. In that end she respects and indulges her admirers as often and as enthusiastically as she can.
A well-versed and intelligent young woman, it is obvious by Geneva’s extensive vocabulary and the old-fashioned turn of her words that she was instructed by some highly regarded teachers. Her mother had never permitted her to attend a regular school, so she remained at home with a few private tutors instead. Because the Fontaine’s are ‘old money’ so to speak, they are privileged to many sources others are not which is why her way of doing things may seem strange and outdated. She is extremely resourceful, knowing exactly where to go and who to speak to when obtaining information. Being able to talk her way out of – and sometimes even into – difficult situations helps her gain access to even forbidden sites others may not be privy to. She is also perceptive and has a habit of being able to predict when unfortunate things will come to pass. Funnily enough, despite all of her prestigious training and the fact that she lives in an ultimately modern age, she is quite terrible when it comes to the use and understanding of some technologies.
Stubborn in her opinions, and she has many, Geneva can be an incredibly frustrating person to reason with. She tends to pout when she doesn’t get her way and is easily offended when someone isn’t as susceptible to her charms as everyone else seems to be. She’s also very conscious of her appearance. Some might even go so far as to call her vain or materialistic. The truth is she just doesn’t really like to get her hands dirty. Hygiene and overall cleanliness are priorities to her. In fact, she’ll think twice before associating with someone who appears to not have taken a bath in a lengthily period of time. Otherwise, she is very friendly and open-minded, with a love with learning about other people and their distinct way of life.
Overall she’s a congenial person, a woman who is incredibly bright and inviting. Just try not to pry into her personal affairs unless you’re willing to divulge similar information.

so the story begins...
Geneva Allison Fontaine, the first child of Vincent and Camille Fontaine, born December 14th at exactly 12:24 in the afternoon. Healthy and appears to have taken after her mother. However, did not immediately cry, instead appeared to take in her surroundings with a sense of unusually strong curiosity and awareness.
Since birth, Geneva Fontaine has maintained a deep intrigue in the world and the people that surround her. Many attribute this to the fact that she was raised by a pair of very passionate, very articulate souls who took nothing for granted and thirsted for intellectual and philosophical satisfaction.
Camille Fontaine – formerly Camille Jervais – was the second daughter of a famed author and his wife, a professor of sciences at a prestigious university that had been adapted from one found on the original Earth. She was a strong-headed woman with a sharp tongue and very high standards. She was also someone who knew exactly what she wanted and refused to acknowledge obstacles that would keep her from it. Many found her abrasiveness off-putting, however her perseverance and strong sense of self was what helped pull her so effortlessly through society’s social ranks, into the higher reaches of the Top. That was where she met her best friend and future husband, Vincent Fontaine.
Vincent’s family owned one of several laboratories and research facilities, the main building located on the In Between. Later, Vincent would recount his trips there to Geneva who found the contrast between it and the Top fascinating.
Vincent of course was drawn to Camille’s willingness to learn and her zest for life as a whole, and somehow convinced her to take a job under his family’s company; a company he himself would someday inherit and run on his own. They made a powerful pair and by the time they were pronounced husband and wife, theirs was known throughout the Top as one of Terra’s most influential and innovative partnerships. Eventually Vincent would end up dabbling in politics and even stepping in as one of a handful of delegates sent to other – habitable and semi developed – planets to propose new technologies and processes that would enhance and make life there more convenient. Not everyone agreed with his ideas of course, but to most he was considered an invaluable asset to the progression of modern robotics. Camille herself would opt to branch off into medical sciences, and then retire into a socialite status; ready to have children and start a family.
Shortly after Camille’s early retirement, she gave birth to Geneva however would not come to have any other children due to a virus that left her barren; ironic considering she put so much effort into preventing similar sicknesses. She was happy to at least have conceived one baby however and would shower Geneva with all of the love and affection she had in her to give. There was no doubt the girl was spoiled beyond reason, but she was also taught to appreciate what she had and realize that thousands of others weren’t so lucky.
Geneva was instructed by tutors in various areas of science, literature, math, as well as in both international and domestic affairs since the age of seven. She then worked part-time in her father’s company performing administrative duties, played the game of politics for a very brief while and – in the end – decided to do what made her happy. Singing.
Everyone, although mostly her parents, would extremely surprised and even a bit disappointed when she opted for fame instead of more intellectually stimulating pursuits. But as time went on they saw that she was truly blissful getting up on stage and sharing her excitement with those who had little to look forward to. In time her face was displayed on every magazine cover and advertisement one might think of. She concentrated on opera mostly, but then experimented with more mainstream stuff and continued on from there. Everything seemed to be working in favour, until her publicity became a problem.
Largely due to her father’s meddling in intergalactic affairs and stepping on particularly unfriendly toes, Geneva’s publicity gave his more savage rivals something to work with; a potential bargaining chip. Threats in the form of letters and other more destructive means were sent as a warning, mostly centering on Geneva and the allusion to a future kidnapping. In the end it was decided she needed to be sent off until the hype died down and the guilty were apprehended while her parents remained to care for the company and other important matters at home. As a fully grown woman, Geneva did not appreciate being herded off without the chance to voice her opinion. However it did seem the safest route and it would only be temporary, right?
At this point arrangements are being made for her to board a ship off of Terra, with the promise of a large sum of credits for whomever transports her to her destination.
role play example =
“Geneva, we’ve already discussed this. Please do not make things more complicated than they need to be.” A pause followed as her father turned to regard her with sad eyes, and then a sigh while he approached and laid a strong hand upon her shoulder.
“The last thing I want is for you to become involved in dangerous situations that were a result of my own doing. I’d never be able to forgive myself if something were to happen to you. Understand?”
It was clear; there would be no reasoning with Vincent Fontaine now that he had finally made peace with his decision. Geneva’s heart sank in response and she nodded her head dutifully before embracing him. Was it a gesture meant to reassure him or her however? At that moment, she was left without an answer.
“It’s just difficult for me to have to leave you like this. You’re in just as much danger as I am after all. How do you think I would feel if something awful were to happen to you or mother? It’s unfair to assume I’d be alright.”
Her expression softened however and she buried her face within the folds of his shirt, breathing in that familiar cologne he always wore. The spicy scent was comforting and she stood there for a long moment, listening to the steady beat of his heart. Finally he pulled away, albeit reluctantly and managed a smile.
“Everything will be fine. We’ll get this mess sorted out and have you home before you know it. Just think of the trip as a vacation of sorts. Try to relax and take something valuable away from it all. Now, I believe your mother wishes to speak to you. She was in the foyer last I checked. Better not keep her waiting! You know what she’s like.”
And with that, she was ushered out into the hall along with her misery and growing sense of injustice. Wasn’t there any alternative to just leaving everything behind like a coward? Didn’t – as a grown adult – have any say in what went on?
