As suggested by Sarah, let's have a thread about sci-fi swears! We're going to need swears to use in-game that aren't actual swears so we can stay under pg-13, as well as coming up with some good derogatory names for species to call one another.
Real swears that are under pg-13: ass (and all variations, ie asshole, asshat, dumb-ass), and damn. Bitch and bastard are also allowed, but in small doses guys. Use it only when you really mean it.
Short list of various fictional swears:
Battlestar Galactica: Frak, skinjob (cyborg with human exterior), felgercarb (crap)
Firefly: Gorram (damn), rutting (sex), humped, various Chinese phrases
Farscape: Frell (sex), dren (crap), yotz (as in "what the yotz are you doing")
Star Wars (extended universe): Kriff (sex), stang (crap), sithspawn, bantha pootoo, nerf herder,
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Zarqon/Zark (as in "oh for Zark's sake"), belgium (sex)
Mork & Mind: Shazbot (as in "oh Shazbot!")
I've been using fik/fiking as my version of frak/frell. Feel free to make suggestions for all sorts of swears and insults for other races!

As in: "we're screwed" "we're caught" "we're dead meat" etc, for those who are confused about that one. I would take out nerf herder. I used it in the chatbox at the time cause it sounded funny but on second thought it really doesn't apply here since I'm assuming no one herds "Nerfs" in this universe... we have cows and buffalo and horses for that! Also cut any other definite "non-canon" character/species references like banthas and sith, etc. |

I don't think we should use any of them actually, at least not IC. They're great as an idea of how to make our own swears (most of them are really guttural sounds, or they just sound vaguely dirty), but we're all pretty creative people, it should be easy enough to come up with various substitutes, especially for the assorted races.

I'm thinking you won't have to worry too much about them. Miss Cho doesn't strike me as much of a cusser.
For those creatures who are half human/half animal, I think the obvious swear is the easy crude one, aka horsefiker/goatfiker/deerfiker. It could also be easily used against humans entering romantic relationships with them.
Dwarves and Goblins can probably both get height-specific insults (shortstuff, shorty, small-fry, etc). As well, calling Goblins green-skinned or green-blooded bastards would be fine.
These seem like more human-specific insults to me. I imagine each species has it's own internal swears for themselves, and then for other races. Some of them would overlap but not all of them. For example, the Dwarves could use the horsefiker insults, but among their own culture, they'd insult one another based on ability to mine/how close they live to the surface/their beards.

Yeah and not all species would be inclined to insult the others unless there was a real race grudge there. For example, almost everyone would be hostile towards vampires of course, but a faun on the other hand would not have a reason to throw mean spirited insults around (teasing fun nicknames maybe) at anyone save those vamps, unless the faun's specific backstory involved something to cause that.

Offensive to Winged: Birdbrain, Featherhead, dodo(?), Pixie
Offensive to Centaurs: Jackass, Mule, any joke that ends 'why the long face', Mr. Ed, Referring to the horse portion as 'his/her better half'
Offensive to Elves: Spock, "That dirty, dirty hippy"... (Drawing a blank)
Offensive to Weres: Mutt, Stray, asking 'what are you, in heat?', Furface, confusing one with a Vampire, asking if 'your mother had a thing for {insert animal here}'
I'm done... Hope I didn't actually offend anyone.
