Booker suddenly heard a new voice coming from down the hall. He went to go check it out. There was a new person in the cockpit. He hadn't noticed him walk past the door of the med room. Solomon was with Blaine and they were looking at this strange looking newcomer.
"Who's 'dis foo'?" Booker asked as he pointed at him, "More crew?"

"Where did I come from?" Thomas spoke, "your very own Terran homeworld." He looked down, feeling rather rude for just waltzing in. He began to think it had been a poor decision, especially when a booming voice came from behind him.
"I can be crew if you want me to be... I can certainly cook and I do know abit of legal work... I mean... I have knowledge of the stuff." Thomas began to ramble in his akward air.
He stepped to the side, hoping that he would feel less intrusive there than he had in the middle of the door way. But when he looked up he noticed that they were all still staring at him.
"...So... Nice weather we're having, isn't it?" Thomas spit out in a nervous manner.

Sol couldn't help but start chuckling a little over the sudden flustering of this new fellow. He looked downright hilarious standing next to the huge Booker. "Yeah, the weather is pretty decent for this time of year," he nodded in agreement. "Here, everyone out into the mess hall, it's getting crowded in here."
After waving them all out of the cockpit, he leaned against the wall near the dining table. "A cook, eh?" he stroked his chin in thought, pondering the idea.

The man named Thomas stood and awkwardly babbled on. Blaine already didn't like him. He wasn't a very tough looking person. He didn't want to be caught in a battle with a scrawny man like this. Ah! He's a cook. That explains it. Booker walked in and he instantly smirked. He'll straighten him out.
They walked into the mess hall and gathered.

Booker realized this was some random man that barged into the ship uninvited. They gathered in the mess hall. He could see Solomon thinking about the idea of a cook on board. Booker was completely for the idea of a cook. He loved food. He'd often have fifths by the time others had seconds. His favorite was turkey. Mmmm... Turkey. Booker's mouth watered.
He snapped back to reality and looked at the new man. "If you a cook, then why you so skinny?" Booker bluntly asked.

Shoved into the new surrounding, Thomas surveyed the area. Chairs, benches, counters and of course: a floor.
He could see that one of the men surrounding him was pondering. Thomas hoped that he was pondering on the novel idea of a cook instead of the novel idea of shooting him in the head.
Looking back and forth between them, he was caught off guard by the strong look from one man, and the rather blunt question from the other.
"W-why I'm skinny? I guess I just prefer a little bit of food... So my guests can have more?" He stammered trying to come up without falling to some spiel about metabolism and fried eggs.

Booker just shot him a look that said, 'Are you serious?' He shook his head and decided not to respond. Booker had never thought of others portions of food when he ate. He just scarfed down as much food that would satisfy him, and that was a lot of food.
He wasn't about to argue with a cook. The cook was the one who made the food that Booker greatly consumed. So he liked him even though they didn't share the same opinion.

"Well hey look," Sol pushed off from the wall. "I have to look over the info on these other fellows over night, so I might as well download your resume as well." He walked over to the counter where he had left his new eInkr, picking it up.
"To be honest I haven't had a new one of these in... quite a few years," he admitted as he carried it over. "So I'm a little rusty and I've got to learn the new tech, but give me a day or two and I should have everything finally downloaded, read, and decided, as well as the ship prepped... and then I'll send you guys a message if you're hired. Sound like a plan?"

With his hand back on his neck in that very anxious way, he listened to who he now understood to be the captain speak.
"Yeah, new technology can be quite... troublesome." Thomas said while looking down at the ground. He thought it would be better to not share any stories about places setting on fire while he was trying to get a job.
"So I guess that's it for now, then? Sorry about the whole... intruding on your boat, sir."

Blaine agreed. He hadn't gotten a hotel room yet. He'd just need one for a night and if he didn't get the job he could pay for longer. "Well then I'm off to go get a hotel room." Blaine announced.
"Goodbye. Hopefully I'll see you tomorrow!" He said as he waved. He then left the ship. Down the hall, down the stairs, down the ramp, and out of Adeala. He pulled out his own eInkr and searched for nearby not-too-expensive hotels. He decided on one. He was so anxious at the idea of a possible new job that wouldn't end in him getting arrested.
He arrived at the hotel and paid for one night.

"Yeah, I should probably go too." Booker said, disappointed that he'd have to go back to his apartment. He wanted to look more at the ship but he knew Solomon had a lot of work to do now that three people had practically instantly asked for jobs. He usually did what he was told.
"Bye guys!" Booker left with a large smile on his face. He left the ship and returned to his apartment he was just renting for a short time. He thought that if he got the job he should probably do something about the apartment. He decided to wait until after he found out if the job was his or not.

"That's alright," Sol nodded to Quillan. "Just, you know... don't make a habit of it. You never know what kind of ship you might wander yourself onto, and well... some folks just aren't keen on those who don't knock first."
Then he said goodbye to the men and sent them all off on their way. He still hadn't located any sign of Olive yet. It was probably a good time to get better acquainted with his new eInkr and see what he could find via the Network.

((Time Cut!! This thread leads into this one: afutureforgotten.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=terramiddle&action=display&thread=106And then back to here for.....)) ________________________________________ Olive trudged over to the ship Solomon had pointed to, wondering where on Terra it had come from. It was way bigger than the shuttle, which she realized was actually parked just outside of the ship. She peered up the loading ramp in curiosity. It smelled like... she wasn't sure what it smelled like, besides the city and the general dock area. It must be what ships smelled like. She took one last glance in the direction of Sol and Grace, and some other guy who had joined them to talk, and then she turned back to the ship and wandered her way onto it, starting to explore. It was older and more worn than the shuttle from Antheia. But it had lots, lots more room. She could stand here. Dance here. It was still so very metal though. Olive climbed up the stairs to a metal walkway and followed a turn towards a doorway, which she peeked into. A hallway and three choices in direction. Ahead of her, it seemed lighter. She chose that, heading down the hallway, running her fingers along the metal walls until she reached a bigger room, brighter and more comfy looking. There was a table and chairs, and counters and lots of drawers... on the other side, a couch. "Ooo!" she grinned, heading for the blue couch and flopping down onto it. "Comfy!"

When Sol finally returned to the ship, he discovered Olive in the lounge area, sprawled across the couches. He headed over to the table once more and sat down, pulling his eInkr over to him, where he had managed to finally pull up some files on the men who had stopped by the ship earlier.
He cleared his throat, not looking up from the info in front of him. "So. Interesting friend you made today..."

Olive watched Sol enter quietly from her spot on the couch. She wasn't sure if she should say something. Was she still in trouble? Also, she really wanted to ask about the ship.
"So. Interesting friend you made today..." he finally said from the other side of the room.
She shifted uncomfortably. "...he was nice. He helped me get back here." She sat up then, wondering something even more important than the questions about the ship. "...why did he call you a murderer? You don't kill people..."
