Queen of Spades
captain = Grace Forjacks
other initial crew members = Klove Makem
ship type = smuggling ship
required subforums = Cockpit, Captain's Quarters, Bunks/Common Room, Storage/Hidden Storage, Mess Hall/Med Centre
can you commit to being active and handling small mod duties? = yes
important info =
- The Queen of Spades is a smuggling ship. It is one of the fastest ships currently active and can outrun all military class spaceships and most non-military spaceships. As a smuggling ship, it's build to be hard to spot. It's small size, weird curves, and dark exterior make it difficult to spot while mobile.
- As it is a smuggling ship, it has basic armour and some light weaponry. Queen of Spades is built for speed, not for face-to-face fights. What external firepower the Queen of Spades has is used primary for surprise attacks. When faced with a real battle, the ship will choose to outrun it's attackers rather than risk the cargo being damaged.
- Like mythical UFOs the Queen of Spades resembles, the spaceship has the ability to hover and quickly change directions/stop on a dime. However this stopping power is not without it's dangers, causing the need for most loose items and drawers/cabinets to be tightly secured so nothing goes flying around when the ship comes to a sudden stop.
Storage
-There is a large refrigeration unit against the same wall as the Hidden Storage. In the far right side of the unit, the back wall can be slid away to access the hidden section. To most inspecting the ship, the Hidden Storage simply looks like part of the fuel tank.
-When not full of cargo, the Storage can be used to recreation purposes, primary for sports but also for those who want peace and quiet.
-The middle part of the floor in the Storage unit lowers when the ship has landed and creates a ramp to exit out of.
Mess Hall/Med Centre
-There is a large viewscreen on one wall that all crew members have access to. While it is predominantly used for entertainment, it's also used to look up medical procedures when there's no medic on board.
-The dinning table is made of stain-steel and contains a few small drain holes near the ends and centre, allowing it to double as an operation table in emergencies.
-Fridge is secured by a lock when not in use to keep it from opening during emergencies. Same with oven doors and the cupboard containing the medical supplies and dishes/utensils/pots/etc. All crew members have access to the key.
Bunks/Common Room/Facilities
-Seven bunks are located in the crew area. They have curtains hanging in front of them for privacy. They are large enough to sit up in and contain shelving units for clothes and possessions. These units can be locked up. The bunks are of average human height. A few of the bunks against the outside wall have portholes to look out of. They can be easily closed off with a blind.
-The facilities has a large communal shower, blocked off by a curtain, three individual stalls and a single sink. There's a large mirror over the sink.
-There is a dart board set up between the bunks on the opposite end of the quarters. In a small unlocked chest on the floor beneath the dartboard are a few spare data-pads (older models), some sports balls, a few decks of cards, and a few blocks of wood to whittle.
Engine Room
-The engine is in the middle, placed directly overtop the rockets. Pipes and cables run out of it and into the walls. The thickets pipes run between the fuel tank and the engine, taking up nearly the entire wall.
-There's a bunk in the engine room for the engineer if they need to stay and monitor something instead of sleeping in the main quarters. Some engineers may choose to keep their possessions there permanently, as it allows more privacy than in the main quarters.
- It has three doorways, each one directly across from the doors of the other rooms.
There is an emergency hatch leading from the top level directly down in the engine room in case of emergencies.
Cockpit
- The viewscreen takes up most of the cockpit. Monitors embedded in the various consoles display stats on the ships and how everything is dealing.
-There is an autopilot and it can be used, but Grace prefers to have someone always in the cockpit, just in case.
- Two laser canons are mounted beneath the consoles and are the main form of defence. There are also six mines attatched to the underside of the ship that can be activated and dropped, potentially damaging ships following the Queen of Spades
Captain's Quarters
-There is a small airlock on the right-hand side when you enter the room. The airlock is usually mostly for preforming repairs to the ship in space, and occasionally to send people out to search ships found floating in space.
-The door to Grace's cabin is usually open and she welcomes visits from her crew. The odd time it is closed, the crew know better than to disturb her unless there's an emergency.
