Captain/Ship Rules:
captain = name here
other initial crew members = names
ship type = what will it be used for?
required subforums = name the areas of the ship that will need their own subforum (ie. bridge, engine crew quarters, etc)
important info = any important info pertaining to the layout or functionality of the ship
can you commit to being active and handling small mod duties? = yes/no
reason for a new ship = "because I want one" is not acceptable.[/ul]
- Not many ships will be accepted, as we can't go overboard in subforums. Please check the status in the title to see if we're accepting new ships at this time.
- The first few ships will need to be somewhat filled before more are created. Please check out what ships need what positions filled before creating your character. It may give you an idea of what sort of character you may want to create in order to fill the positions.
- Each captain will be responsible for drawing up blue prints of their ship for the rest of the crew. These can be hand drawn or done with a computer, as long as they are legible and contain all the needed sections such as the cockpit, sleeping quarters, cargo bay, engine room, medic bay, kitchen, common room, etc. Don’t worry too much about extreme detail, scale, or measurements. The most important part is that your crew members can visualize where everything is on your ship.
- Since Humans are the ones to achieve the first space flight and subsequently pass the technology throughout the universe, most ships belong to and are captained by Humans. There are of course exceptions to this rule, and non-human ship owners are becoming more common as cultures continue to blend. However more often than not, a ship’s captain should be Human. You will likely need special permission to create a non-human captain.
- Captains will be mini-mods of their own ship section, therefore they must be active and proficient in role playing. Captains that go MIA for over 2 weeks without a valid explanation will trigger a mutiny, and a new captain will be chosen or your ship will be disbanded.
- Once a ship is accepted, it's application will be turned into the thread for all information pertaining to the ship's layout, rules, etc. Please keep the blueprints and basic info, but feel free to expand and edit the thread as needed in order to cover all important info your crew may need to know.
