Reese had gone and found a place to print some of the data he'd collected while out in the forests. He was on his way back to the Andeala. But he didn't notice the men standing around the ship as he had his glasses on and his face buried in the notes. He'd already managed to walk into a lamp post due to not paying attention to his surroundings so it wasn't a surprise he hadn't noticed the men right away.
As he got closer to the ship he was stopped by a sudden gun being pointed out in front of him. It hadn't been pointed directly at him just held out to block his path. Startled a bit he fumbled his papers in his hands. "Oh dear... I'm sorry," he stated and bent down to pick up the few pages he'd dropped. Standing straight again he pushed his glasses further up his nose and made a small twitch then froze. Military?
When did they show up...? ...And why?

The soldier had been ordered to stand on guard. It was a pretty easy job, but he did it diligently. Serving under Cain was an honor, and while some of these clowns didn't seem to care, this soldier sure as heck did. He had a future ahead of him, promotions, maybe even a seat on the Council, once he retired of course.
And then, some dweeb in glasses with notes, just walked on by the soldier like he didn't notice the whole guarded thing. The soldier hurried to step in front of the man and pointed his gun at him. Suddenly there was a reaction in the form of an explosion of papers. The guy was oblivious and all thumbs? Real great.
"Hands where I can see them!" The soldier said, keeping his gun pointed at the guy. "Who the heck are you?"

As the gun was actually pointed at him this time he instantly flipped his arms in the air dropping all his papers again. Way to give a poor guy a heart attack. He stared for a bit with wide eyes and then managed to push a few words out. "I swear to God I'm innocent!" That was possibly a bad choice of words but it was the first thing that popped into his scattered brain at the time.
He glanced around quickly at the other men guarding different spots. "W-what's going on...?" he stuttered a bit. None of it made any sense, why were they around this ship? Of all the ships they could be here for, why'd it have to be this one?

The soldier stared at the guy. At least now he knew he wasn't a threat. He was just totally clueless. Another soldier would have let him go, but not this one. This one knew you still had to interrogate the people who wandered into the wrong places. Maybe he did know something. He looked like the type to just blab it out too.
"I don't know, why don't you tell me what you think is going on?" He remarked sarcastically. Didn't he hear any of the announcements? He poked at the guy, "Come on, give me some ID."

He was in a slight panic, not used to having working weapons pointed at him. Hell if he had too many more weapons trained on him he'd probably soil himself. He was a top kid and never really experienced something like this.
He quickly pulled out his eInker in response and flipped up an information card. It had the necessary information that people normally checked for. He was used to pulling up this information for traveling sake but never really for anything related to the military. Was someone in trouble? He still hadn't formally met any of the other crew members so he wasn't quite sure if it was one of them. He wouldn't be able to identify anyone other than Solomon or Magdalen.

The soldier took the eInkr and looked over the ID. He was a Terran, and a Topper. That explained a whole lot. He was just some dumb spoiled kid who didn't have to pay attention to everybody else because he was rich and stuff.
"Hey, Joe!" He yelled to one of the other soldiers. "Check the passenger manifest! Is Reese Emerson on it?"
Joe checked it and shouted back, "Nope!"
"Alright buddy, what the heck are you doing here? Can't you see this is a crime scene? We're waiting on a dangerous fugitive!" He tossed the eInkr back at the kid.

Reese paused before his eInker was tossed back at him. Solomon must not have updated the list. That was common for the small passenger vessels. Sometimes they were only updated late the next day, it all depends on how busy the Captain is. "I just joined... well, yesterday... Th-the list might not be updated..." He nervously looked around.
A dangerous fugitive? Did they try and break into the ship? Were they part of the crew? What was going on?! "I was just going to grab something from my room..." Oh boy, where were the people you recognized when you needed them.

"Yeah? Well sit your ass down." The soldier turned and yelled at Joe again, "Get the General!"
Joe went off to find the General and the soldier kept hie eyes on Reese, "Maybe you were just trying to get something from your room but until I'm sure you're not on her side, I'm keeping you right here! No sudden moves!"

Reese sat without question. While on the ground he made a point to pick up his papers again and put them in a nice pile to try and keep himself from panicking too much. When the soldier called to get their general he swallowed hard and kept an eye out.
Not on her side? So this fugitive was a girl? He sure hoped it wasn't Magdalen who then tried to lead him into something he wasn't even a part of. She seemed so nice. "I swear I'm on no one's side. I-I don't even know whats going on..." Everything was just messing with his head and he didn't know how to react well.

Cain was looking at Cassandra's room when a soldier came in the room. He was about to say something when Cain shushed him. He was trying to understand the girl. This room was barely lived in. No possessions anywhere, no sign of life. A perfectly made bed. And the only trace of her was oil residue on the desk. This hadn't been a home to Cassandra. And there was very little chance she would return.
He finally turned his attention to the soldier. "What is it?"
"Some man just tried to walk into the ship. He says he's a passenger but he's not on the manifest."
Cain nodded, and left the room. Soldiers quickly stood to attention as Cain passed, not wanting to be seen slacking on the job. And outside, Cain spotted a soldier holding a gun at a civilian. He walked over.
The soldier saluted, "Sir! We caught this man-" The young man looked up and Cain felt a stab of irritation as he realized he knew who it was. It was Emerson's son. And they had a gun pointed at the kid. The solider had no idea how close he was to permanently ruining his career by pointing his gun at one of the more important Top families' only child.
"Dismissed soldier." Cain snapped irritably. The soldier quickly back off, shocked by the whole thing. Cain offered a hand down to the boy, "Here son, let me help you up."

Reese felt himself shrink a bit when he saw who came out of the ship. He recognized Cain and heard stories about the guy. He could be super nice or down right nasty. He was pretty sure his dad had even talked with him before. But he was still terrified of what was going on.
A little relieved he wasn't getting yelled at right away he had gripped his papers with one arm and took the mans hand with the other. He was lifted pretty easily and he straightened himself out a bit. "Wh-what's going on...?" He asked again hoping to actually get a better explanation than just a dangerous fugitive running around.

The kid seemed fine. Shaken, but fine. He looked like his old man, but the steel core and iron will hadn't been passed along to the son. Here was a boy who had never learned to abuse his privilege or authority and so had spent his life being pushed around by those who did.
"I'm afraid you picked a poor time to visit. Cassandra Nida was travelling aboard this ship, but it appears she's moved on. I doubt either she or her allies would be returning here so soon." He shot another look at the soldier who quickly skulked out a sight. If Emerson heard about this...
"There's no reason for concern. We're about to move our operation to an empty dock so Solomon and the rest of his crew can return to the ship." Cain saw that he still hadn't completely alleviated the young man's fears, so he added, "Solomon was the one who identified his passenger as the woman we were seeking. He seems to be a very honourable and lawful man."

"Cassandra Nida...? Was she the one with all the fake limbs?" He asked just to confirm. He'd heard about her. He liked to keep up with some of the news from back home and occasionally there were important announcements that had to do with some more important bounties and wanted people.
He made a sigh of relief when Cain seemed to vouch for Solomon. Then everything should be fine, he'd get to travel like he wanted to and not get shot in the face by some random soldier. He was a little more relaxed now that he knew he himself wasn't in trouble. He also never came to realized how much pull his family had and how easily he could have gotten himself out of the situation from the beginning. "Did he not know about her then...?"

"Suspected prosthetics. We haven't confirmed anything yet." Of course that was a lie, but it was better to keep these sort of things hazy. Let the population's imagination run wild with possibilities. They'd eventually convince themselves of the most horrible situation possible, and you wouldn't be left liable for their actions as you would with deliberate false information.
"Doubtful. A lawful man like himself has no reason to look at the public bounties." Of course, there was a chance Solomon had seen it and sheltered the girl for a few days. Cain wasn't too concerned. He had handed over his ship and any information he had. And there was no reason to upset Emerson's boy. "He should be returning soon with his crew. I'll wait with you until he does to make certain no one else mistakes you for something you aren't."

"I see..." He paused and looked around. He didn't expect so much military to be on Antheia so it was weird to look around to see so many people with guns. He wasn't too fond of all the weapons, that was another reason he had left. Antheia was an over all safer planet to be on. "C-can I put my stuff away?" He wanted to get back to his room and put his papers away with the rest of them. A little disappointed that his new papers had been dirtied when he dropped them, but at least you could still read them.
He wasn't sure if he should message his parents or just kind of go with what ever happened and maybe tell them when ever he got back home. Either way they might not be happy and demand he come home and stay, which he really didn't want to do. He preferred getting out and seeing new things rather than being cooped up in the various things his father wanted him to do.
